Trainee judge at the Sofia District Court (1977 – 1978). Junior judge at the Sofia City Court (1979 - 1981). Chairman of the Svoge Regional Court (1981 - 1984). Expert at the Contracts and Legal Matters Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1984 - 1986). Judge at the Sofia District Court (1986 - 1989). Deputy Chairman of the Sofia District Court (1989 - 1994). Lawyer at the Sofia Bar Association (1994 - 2004). Member of the XXXIX National Assembly (2000 - 2004). Chairman of the Supreme Administrative Court (2004 - 2010). Ombudsman of the Republic of Bulgaria (2010 - 2015).  Elected Constitutional Court Justice by the XLIII National Assembly (2015).
