Dimitar Tokushev

Date and place of birth: December 9, 1946, Silistra.

Education: Faculty of Law, St. Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia (1970).

District prosecutor in Pirdop, Sofia region (1972- 1976). Assistant Professor (1976), Associate Professor (1990) and Professor in history of the Bulgarian state and haw (2004) at the Faculty of Law, St. Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia.

PhD dissertation (1982). Lecturer at: the Faculty of Law, St. Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia, Faculty of History and Law, St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo (since 1992), the Academy of the Ministry of Interior (since 1996), the Free University of Burgas (1991-2000), Faculty of Law, Angel Kanchev University of Ruse (1992-1996) and the New Bulgarian University in Sofia (1995-2002).

Author of monographs, textbooks, studies and articles in the field of history of Bulgarian law.

Deputy Dean (1991-1993, 1999-2003) and Dean of the Faculty of Law, St. Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia (2003-2006). Member of the Asylum Granting Committee to the Administration of the President of the Republic (2003), member of the Supreme Judicial Council and chairman of its Law Policy Commission (2003).

Appointed Constitutional Court Justice by the President of the Republic (2006).
