Date and place of birth: August 25, 1938, Sofia. Education: School of Law with the Sveti Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia, summa cum laude (1960). Junior judge and district judge in Kurdjali (1963-1964); regular postgraduate at the Institute of Law with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (1964-1967); assistant at the School of Law with the University of Sofia (1968); associate professor (1984); professor of civil and family law (1994). PhD dissertation „Legal Frame of the Аlienation and Compensation Schemes Concerning Real Estate under the Law on Regional and Urban Planning" (1976); associate professor with „Group Construction Contract" (1984); professorship monograph „Promissory Note and Bill of Exchange" (1994). Specialization: Switzerland, Germany. Author of four textbooks, three monographs and dozens of studies and articles on civil, invention, patent and commercial law. Member and scientific secretary of the Specialized Scientific Council on Law with the Higher Accreditation Committee; Chairman of the CEC for the Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections and Chairman of the CEC for Local Elections in 2003. Member of the governing body of the Law Section with the Union of Scientists in Bulgaria and of the German Association „Friends of the Hamburg Max Planck Institute for Foreign Private and Private International Law". Elected Constitutional Court justice by the 39th National Assembly (2003).
