Borislav Belazelkov

Borislav Nikolov Belazelkov was born on May 16, 1956 in Sofia city. He graduated in "Law" at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" in 1981. Borislav Belazelkov worked as a bailiff at the Sofia District Court in the period 1984-1986. He was a judge in the Sofia City Court as well as in the Supreme Court from 2019 to 2021. Borislav Belazelkov was the chairman of the IV civil department. He was the head of the "Council for harmonizing the practice of the Supreme Court of Cassation with the practice of the European Court of Human Rights and the Court of the European Union" under the President of the Supreme Court in 2021-2022. He was a honorary assistant in "Civil Procedure" at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" as well as a part-time lecturer in "Civil Enforcement Proceeding" at Sofia University in the period 1997-2004, and also in "Civil Procedure“ at the University of Veliko Tarnovo "St. Cyril and Methodius" in 1996-1997. Borislav Belazelkov was an arbitrator in the Court of Arbitration at the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the period 1999-2008. He was a lecturer at the training of judges, lawyers and legal consultants organized by the Judicial Training Centre, the National Institute of Justice, The Center for the Training of Attorneys, etc. He worked on projects of the Supreme Judicial Council, financed by Administrative Capacity Operational Program, as well as on bills of the Trade Register Law, the Code of Civil Procedure, Law on the Judiciary, etc. Borislav Belazelkov has numerous publications in the field of civil law, civil process and commercial law.
